Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra’s crown jewel, is a biodiversity hotspot comprising Tadoba National Park (~116.55 km²) and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary (~508.85 km²), totaling ~625.4 km² in Chandrapur district. Named after the tribal deity "Taru" and the Andhari River, this national park is a sanctuary of untouched wilderness, teeming with life.

History of Tadoba

The evolution of a pristine wilderness into a protected sanctuary

1935

Hunting Reserve

Tadoba was established as a hunting reserve by the rulers of the erstwhile state of Hyderabad.

1955

National Park Status

The area was declared a national park, covering an area of 116.54 square kilometers.

1986

Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary

The adjacent Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary was created, covering 508.85 square kilometers.

1995

Tiger Reserve Formation

The national park and sanctuary were merged to form the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve.

All Core Gates remains closed every Tuesday and All Buffer Gates will remain closed on every Wednesday. During monsoon season (July to September), the core zone may have restricted access. Safari timings are subject to change based on weather conditions and forest department regulations. Please confirm timings before planning your visit.
